WELCOME TO PEAKSTONE THERAPY

MEET YOUR CLINICIAN
I believe that curiosity is the first step toward healing.
Sometimes, the opportunity to be truly heard can help us understand something we've been carrying alone for a long time. At Peakstone, we see therapy as a
space where we can be curious non-judgemental collaborative space for curiosity.
Together, we'll slow down, make sense of your experiences, and explore the patterns that shape how you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world.
From there, change can become possible.
My Philosophy
My therapeutic approach is holistic and collaborative. As a psychiatric nurse, I look at the whole picture of how your physical, emotional, social, cultural, spiritual, and environmental health impact one another. I use an integrative therapeutic approach to meet you where you're at.
Whether I am helping individuals manage symptoms of anxiety and burnout, or assisting couples in resolving conflict to build a stronger connection, we work collaboratively to create lasting change.
I believe that therapy exists in many beautiful forms, with formal sessions being only one path toward healing. To me, therapeutic growth also blossoms through intentional connection with others, humour, dedicated self-care, and finding a sense of peace within our daily lives.

Psychotherapist
Iulia Macavei, RPN
About Me
Hello, I am Iulia (you-lee-ah), a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and psychotherapist in Winnipeg.
I support individuals and couples through relationship challenges and major life changes. I am particularly passionate about supporting parents and couples as they transition into and through parenthood. With nearly a decade of clinical background, I also support clients through mental health challenges, self-esteem concerns, addiction, and the unique stressors of the immigration experience.
Through my experience as a nurse, I have gained a firsthand understanding of the profound weight of caregiver burnout and its' effects. I am honored to provide a space for those in the helping professions—including, but not limited to, doctors, nurses, teachers, and first responders—who dedicate themselves to others and often need a place to be cared for themselves.
As a first-generation Canadian and a mother, I have a deep appreciation for how our identities shift across the different seasons of our lives. At Peakstone Therapy, I offer a warm environment where we can explore your personal journey together and build a foundation for lasting clarity.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting your journey.

Is Peakstone Therapy the Right Fit?
Parental Support
Ideal for expecting and new parents moving through the early stages of life with a newborn and youngin. Together, we focus on balancing daily responsibilities while helping you and your partner stay connected through the incredible changes that come with parenthood.
"people in therapy are mostly in therapy to deal with the people in their lives that won't go to therapy"
When another provider may be a better fit
As much as I’d love to be everyone’s therapist, I know that good therapy starts with the right fit. I believe in being honest about what I can offer and when someone else may be better equipped to help.
I would typically refer out when someone is seeking support for:
Active psychosis symptoms requiring specialised psychiatric care.
Acute psychiatric crises requiring emergency or intensive mental health services.
Severe substance use concerns requiring detox or intensive addiction treatment.
Child or adolescent therapy, as my practice focuses on adults and couples.

Sessions are available in-person in our south Winnipeg office or virtually for clients anywhere in Manitoba.
Payment by e-transfer, credit card, or interact.
No direct billing for private insurance; you’ll receive a receipt to submit
Direct billing available for NIHB and other government funded programs

Common Questions
If you find yourself feeling stuck in patterns, overwhelmed by transitions, or disconnected in your relationships, therapy provides a safe, professional space to explore these challenges and find a path forward.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
What can I expect during my first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will discuss your goals, your history, and how we can support your specific needs.
How long does a typical therapy process take?
The length of therapy varies based on individual needs and goals. Some clients find short-term support helpful for specific transitions, while others prefer ongoing collaboration for deeper growth.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
We offer both in-person sessions at our Winnipeg office and secure virtual sessions for those who prefer the convenience of online therapy from the comfort of their own space.
How do I schedule an appointment?
